As a data thief from the upper wards of Caelum, subject Chis 421's life was thrust into turmoil when one of their acquisitions included an unexpected file that was of grave consequence. Although they claimed to have destroyed this file, the mere rumor that it had been passed on to an unknown individual was enough to cause this subject to go into hiding. They remained on Caelum under an assumed name until their unexplained disappearance in A27:439.
Utilizing speed and agility, Quinton 791 achieved the title of Eminent Champion in the Emperian Games in A26:066. These sometimes-brutal cyclical competitions were a significant source of entertainment and commerce in Novian society. Quinton held the title for only one cycle before being defeated. Although most Novians had the internal ability to repair superficial organic damage, in this traditional post-defeat portrait, dermal regeneration had barely begun.
Intricately integrated into Novian data networks, oracles had the ability to interpret vast emotional datasets from the populace to discern collective emotions across society. Serving as Royal Reader for the house of Aerion XXII, Aldonise 512 leveraged this wet-wired access to meticulously analyze emotional trends, informing key decisions and policies of the imperial monarchy.
Convicted of piracy, The subject designated Burman 218 was indentured as a fluorine miner. They not only worked their way out of servitude on a mining platform but ascended to become a successful, albeit unscrupulous trader in the upper wards of Caelum. Due to prolonged fluorine exposure, this subject required continuous intubation until prosthetic respiration organs were obtained. This initial organ replacement marked only the beginning of a series of extensive modifications as the severe poisoning of their organic tissues required multiple cybernetic replacements. At end of life, the subject was almost completely synthetic, living only 198 cycles.
Subject Elizina 841 served as Speaker Prime in the senate from cycle A26:556 to A26:703. Even though it was widely rumored that the senate was under the control of the royal family, this subject was credited for what were known as the "Blossom" cycles where corruption appeared to subside, and faith was restored somewhat in the complex political system. During this time of prosperity, energy stores were abundant, at least for residents of Emperia and Elise. The other worlds of the system saw only a slight improvement in their living conditions if any. This period of plenty proved to be short lived however, and it was historically speculated that the entire Blossom era had been engineered to placate the public from their lingering institutional distrust.
Shren 694 served as Royal Inquisitor under Lord Aerion XXIV and continued under Aerion XXV, where they maintained a formidable reputation, faltering only once in more than 400 cycles to extract desired information. Renowned for his unyielding nature and innovative interrogation techniques, the mere mention of his name often sufficed to coerce absolute compliance from subjects. Shren, unlike typical inquisitors, relied less on brain probes, preferring instead the raw efficacy of "traditional" interrogation methods. It was speculated that this preference stemmed from the enjoyment they derived from such techniques, however there was no denying the results.
Subject Kalria 504 spent their youth as a private data courier on Caelum. Utilizing the tunnels under the wards, a place few dared to venture, they would physically transport data packets for clients. This was a common practice among disreputable members of society, as it was the only way to ensure data would not be intercepted. Kalria's dependability and discretion became well-known to the most notorious figures within Caelum's underworld. That is, until A23:008, when the Subject quietly and mysteriously relocated to Emperia and lived the remainder of their life in an opulent residence near the royal palace.
Soothseers or "seers" utilized complex predictive algorithms applied on a societal scale which allowed them to predict future events with shocking accuracy. This made them valuable members of Novian society and a soothseer was present in every royal court from the reign of Aerius XX to Aerius XXVIII. Mysteriously, there is no record of any seer in existence after that time. It has been suggested that they foresaw a coming calamity and fled. There is evidence however, that their prophetic warnings were considered disruptive to social tranquility by the hierarchy, and they were subsequently silenced.
Apart from its designation, no further description was ever found for this file. This subject stands out as a unique discovery within the Novus system, with both its form and function remaining a mystery.
