File N011
Archival summary of subject Sinistra 1062
Living amidst the decay of Planet Caelum's lower wards, the subject, Sinistra 1062, became increasingly disillusioned with the plight of their home world, and developed a fervent obsession with the legacy of Caelum, which contrasted sharply with the indifferent stance of the Imperium towards its later neglected state.
Sometime around A28:500, Subject joined the ranks of a gang known as "Turba" that sought to advocate for the marginalized masses through acts of theft and redistribution. These actions quickly garnered them substantial infamy, and despite being considered criminals, the majority of lower Caelum's inhabitants secretly admired and supported them. Relentlessly pursued by Imperial Keepers, they led a fugitive existence, but yet their numbers increased. Sinistra eventually assumed leadership of the gang and expanded their activities to more ambitious pursuits. They tapped into conduits on the surface, diverting life-giving energy to the wards below, and erased debt through cyber incursion. Their theft of a nanite printer capable of facilitating repairs to damaged cybernetics further solidified their influence since medical care was severely lacking on Caelum.
The subject's identity was eventually exposed, leading to tragic consequences for their family and a dramatic transformation within Turba. The gang rebranded themselves as "Irata," and their methods grew more ruthless. They transitioned their focus from social issues to engaging in overt warfare against the Imperium, prioritizing their cause over concerns for personal safety and well-being.
The Imperium initiated a misguided effort to apprehend the gang by pressuring the local population with a brutal siege and inquisition. This, along with Irata continuing to reallocate their gains with the oppressed, aligned more of the populous with their cause, and many Caelumites began to openly support them without fear. As their cause grew and their influence began to extend planetwide, the emperor feared a full uprising was imminent. The group was officially designated a terrorist organization by imperial decree.
